First 4 seasons were great, but in typical showtime fashion it jumped the shark late in it's run :(
This has undoubtedly been one of my favourite shows to watch and favourite TV families to grow with. I will surely miss the Gallaghers. However, that was one of the worst finales they could have given their fans. None of this season's questions were answered i.e. Debbie finding a permanent home, Lip selling the house, Liam having a father figure and finding his place in his family... But even worse, the finale raised new questions Lip selling the house for 75k, Debbie going to TX with her new flame, Kev and V selling the bar to Carl, Gallavich adopting a child etc, etc. The really didn't have to bring these things up if they weren't going to resolve them! Also, why give Frank dementia if they were just going to kill him off with covid? However, I will still miss the show. They were definitely my favourite TV family.

Normally, I don't try to binge shows with this many seasons. It's just too much work, but I'm kind of glad I did it with Shameless. It took me a while to get into, though. That makes sense; the Gallagher kids get older and became more interesting with better personal journeys. It leaned too much on Frank and Fiona at the start, which resulted in Fiona being absolutely annoying character her last 2/3 seasons. Frank, Kev and Lip are amazing characters, all for different reasons. But the best thing about Shameless is this: you get to see a family grow up together and you (as a viewer) are going along for the chaotic ride.
It has a lot of negatives... I won't go in to that as much, because that is always the case with 11 seasons. The biggest let down for me was the finale. I know that it's hard to end a long running show (most shows struggle with it), but you can't let Frank die and don't show the reaction of his family... And what happened with the house, the bar and Lip's new kid after this? And mostly, you can't give a farewell speech and don't mention Fiona. It was a shame she was only in this episode in flashbacks, but and end speech with no mention of the leading force of the first 9 seasons is just weird. It has to many loose ends. It's really annoying.
All in all, I enjoyed most of Shameless, but I'm kind of glad it's over. :relieved:
10/10. I love this show. You become really invested in all of the characters and will get actually upset at the dumb choices that they make. You will definitely want to be Kevin and Dee’s neighbor. Since there are so many seasons, you get to watch them grow up and change as characters as well.
Absolutely loved every minute of this show and especially the music! Can’t believe they held on for 11 seasons without a severe decline in stories and awesomeness. No spoilers, but one of the best series endings out there!
after all these years watching and growing up with Gallagher family, being through ups and downs with them, it's kinda sad to see them go. first started watching bc of some short videos on youtube of a fucking beautiful couple, Ian and mickez. As i watched two three episodes i was like ok where is the gay part give me the gay part. but now i live for the whole family and really love every single one of them. i kinda wish it could go on but i guess it was time for and end before going downhill. really happy that they ended it when it was still up there.
i will rewatch the whole series when i find a time.

This show is probably the best dramedy out there. It's a mix so well put together that makes it so addictive. It tells the story of a family that is shameless indeed but also human. A must-watch show!

went insane over this over christmas break with like the only thing i did all day was eat, shameless, and sleep. yes ik unhealthy but it was winter break :person_shrugging:but dec. 30 i watched s7 e1 (practically forced myself to) and just stopped. idk why, i still enjoyed the show but i guess something happened? i just moved on, i guess. sad though i still wanna watch i just cant bring myself to for some reason. im much more used to 20/30 min shows now lol
now its september 2022 and i have gotten to... season 7 episode 4. i dont know what it is about this season not super interested in it. plenty fine w long running shows (watched ten seasons of supernatural in a month or so)

This show really takes you on a roller coaster ride and you just gotta hold on. It has the most diverse and interesting characters on TV, and the most up and downs I've seen on a show. Can go from dead serious to extremely witty over the course of a scene. I love it!
After binging on all episodes since S1E1 I can say with total confidence, this show is a perfect example of White Trash in the U.S.A.

Truely a delight. Not enough people talked about this gem that had a strong 9 seasons, but ran for 11.
I expected something about family and survival, but gosh the amount of sexual content in this show is ridiculous, very ridiculous. First episode and there were like 3 very intense scenes, it felt very uncomfortable.
it's a good show, maybe slightly nauseous at some points, but that's sort of its aesthetic, the plot is Hella good, although it has his roller coaster of emotions
Seasons 1-4 great. from 5 on a bit lazy writing style, plot holes and dubious character developments... tbh I don't wanna finish the last season to keep this series well in mind (really struggled through 9 and 10)... some absurd scripting/abstract humor should be better placed in other shows. Sometimes it was a bit too much jm2c
more details: Some storylines are repetitive and unresolved, or go nowhere. Lip is highly gifted and then?! Nothing. Or there's a brief visit from an ex for a full episode who then gets a reason to never show up again. Emmy Rossom carries the show until she left, resulting in lots of jumptheshark moments then.
EDIT: Watching the last season is such a pain, similiar to the endings of Community or Scrubs
So I would give 9 till season 5, overall a bad 7 - because all the drugs and sex situations are not as annoying as I thought :)

Overall a good recreation of the original UK version and carries on the story well. Some episodes weaker and dipped after Fiona left but overall a decent watch

Didn’t realise they made a US version. Same amount of seasons so prob a straight copy. The only Frank Gallagher I know is the excellent David Threlfall so will be tough to beat. Will have to give this a watch. You can take the man out of Manchester, but can’t take Manchester out of the man!

What a show! The range of emotions and genres that this show hits over 11 seasons will be hard to be topped by any show. It is so perfectly balanced and well rounded that there is something for everyone. Despite having a 5+ day run time, I can definitively say that I will watch this show again at some point. I also know that despite it being "free" on Netflix, that I want to purchase it to own it in my collection. I truly think this is a must see for everyone. Watch it and enjoy the ride!

Be careful this show is addictive. I'm not sure what more I can tell you about Shameless. If you come from a rough upbringing you can appreciate the humor in the show, you can appreciate the drama that to some, brings painful memories. Shameless is a show about modern day life, and it reflects the ups and downs of life, and most of all the interesting (and sometimes shameless) characters that you meet during life.

Great show that sticks with the theme in the title - it gets more and more shameless as it goes. This is mostly in a good way, although I find the later seasons tough to watch sometimes. William H. Macy is excellent and you can't help but root for him as he screws over everyone and everything and screams in the face of god. Emily Rossum is stunning, hilarious and full of heart. Lip is my hero.
Fiona(sp?) is really starting to grind my gears...
binge watched my way through a few seasons, lots of drama, lots of laughs, lots of highs and lots of lows. it's a must watch

Best show on TV. The only show capable of standing up to Game of Thrones, which coincidentally, airs at same time slot.
Characters are relatable, the show is funny when it is supposed to be and dark and emotional when the situation demands.
