If this movie hadn't failed to make me care even remotely about the character(s) then it probably wouldn't have failed to mess with (at least) my head, either. But it did. The story was boring, and although not everything was as predictable as I had expected, the MC's personality and behaviour, in combination with his superficial and annoying *everything*, made it too easy to not care about anything even though it was just as easy to see something was wrong.

Or, maybe that was just me.
