In the not-too-distant future the aging gene has been switched off. To avoid overpopulation, time has become the currency and the way people pay for luxuries and necessities. The rich can live forever, while the rest try to negotiate for their immortality. A poor young man who comes into a fortune of time, though too late to help his mother from dying. He ends up on the run from a corrupt police force known as 'time keepers'.
Don't underestimate or look over this movie i almost did but after a friend recommended it & i saw the comments here i gave it a shot & glad i did... what an excellent movie especially the fact it was something different for a change.
As many people have mentioned the whole time, life & money parallels that can be drawn are what really makes this movie & we can all relate. timberlake was surprisingly good too.
Great concept, but the execution was pretty disappointing..
As others have said, the sentence "running out of time" acquires a totally different and deep meaning where time is also the currency of a society..
So much wasted potential..
@hfp: the clock is still there, you just can't see it. So chances are, they get robbed as soon as they turn 25, or die before turning 26 because they can't find work.
