Pretty good movie. Only I'm not completely getting it: Simon possesses the weak and the wounded, therefore he is a demon that makes you kill people you love? And Gordon and Mary were both patients there, and they were all released in the 80's when the asylum's budget was cut? Right?

Gordon then must be one of the patients that wants to come back, just like the security guy said. So he's actually been working for 20 something years, although he murdered his family, build up a business, just so he can go back to his home-sweet-home-asylum? I don't get it. If someone could explain it to me, I'd appreciate it.
