It's visually stunning but as shallow as a petri dish...

Apart from Theron who turns in a suitably sinister performance, every other performer struggles with the terrible script. Watch the trailer, skip the movie - that's as good as it's ever going to get...

Simply loved the style of the movie.
But the overall story is week.

Even tough it's a Snow White tale, and you expect what is going to happen, the history is very predictable.

It's a very beautiful film - as it should, being a fairytale. Charlize Theron is magnificent as the evil queen, the dwarves are adorable and Kristen Stewart as Snow White is... not very impressing. At all. Sorry. It's not that she's all that bad, she's just not enough.
All in all, if you want to see a really good fairytale, do like the director obviously did several times before making this film: watch Pans Labyrinth.

Very, very good looking movie. The visuals simply stunning. The story though...

It is what it is...a spin on a tale done a thousand times before...even an italian XXX version if I remember correctly. It can't really be all that much more than a fairytale, but this attempt was rather bad.

I also question some of the casting. Using Stewart after those horrendus showings in those Twilight disasters...that take guts. Theron does a fair enough Evil Queen though.

If you are desperate for a fairytale/fantasy flick...sure...try it, but don't say I didn't warn you.
