From Wikipedia (with some added info): Terriers was an American crime comedy-drama noir-ish television series created by Ted Griffin for FX. Ex-cop and recovering alcoholic Hank Dolworth (Donal Logue) partners with his best friend, former criminal Britt Pollack (Michael Raymond-James) in an unlicensed private investigation business. The series is set in Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, although it is portrayed as a distinct town, Dolworth having been a member of the fictional Ocean Beach Police Department. Though critically acclaimed, with a great script and cast, it didn't satisfy FX channel's ratings target and was cancelled after one season.
