A revenge movie that is such a journey. Japanese cinema frequently delivers refreshing slants on a scenario that in Hollywood films has become humdrum & samey. Beautiful skies, quirky framing and slo-mo add to a brilliant use of sound, quiet & music in aiding the narrative. Like many other commenters I was very impressed.
wow, did not expect that. what a awesome surprise. this movie watches like a poem. a gruesome and very intriguing poem. very magical and real. fantastic soundtrack.
The confessions in this film should be seen by everyone, firstly because they are magnificently staged and look great, and secondly because I don't have the words to describe the abysses they reveal.
I recommend just getting into the film and ignoring the one big "logic gap".
Hmmm… tonally somewhat similar to House (1977), and has the same problems.
There is no break from its craziness or over the top style which left m feeling like i’d had enough after an hour.
It also has a very television commercial / music video look.
Having said that there is lots of invention from the director and editor. But i think the film would have benefited from using these in flourishes, not all the time.
5/10. 6 on a good day.

I think the only things holding this movie back from being good in my eyes was the fact that it was often nonsensical and illogical

What a crazy film—the cinematography was great, the plot was uniquely developed, and the pacing was excellent. I was glued to my seat the whole time!
should've ended five minutes sooner, they had the perfect scene! but really good nevertheless.

Amazing structure. It just keeps developing relentlessly. The use of sound and visuals were great. The dialogue had impact. The characters were good. Perfect.
