I didn't find 'Extraction' to be that bad at all, it's not good either but it's definitely nothing terrible. I found it an OK, relatively well paced full on action film.
It is, I will say, one of those productions that big up a well known actor, in this case Bruce Willis, yet they actually don't even feature much. That's a negative for sure, like why would you have Willis and not make him the main attraction - most likely down to financial/scheduling issues, but still.
Kellan Lutz is very much the lead in this and I think he does a solid enough job, as does 'Fast & Furious' alum Gina Carano. Talking of alumni, 'The Walking Dead' duo Steve Coulter and Joshua Mikel appear.
I agree the story is nothing exciting or thrilling, but I honestly didn't have much of problem whilst watching it. It's hollow, but nothing awful - in my opinion, anyway.
If you're looking for a good action film with this title, check out the 2020 release with Chris Hemsworth - it's certainly much better.
Can good actors make bad movies, oh yes. And Gena, please go back to the UFC, your dialogue delivery is painful. Another phoned in performance by Bruce Willis.
I have to give Bruce Willis credit for trying & still working during his illness. I miss him & his action.
It's a cheezy AF B-movie. Nice to spend a lazy weekend afternoon watching.
Gina Carano is hot. Frinkin' Dan Bilzerian is in it, while Bruce Willis phones it in as usual.
Generic tripe, Extraction is a standard, by-the-numbers spy thriller. The story follows CIA agent Harry Turner, who must go rogue in order to save his father after he’s captured during an operation gone wrong. Starring Kellan Lutz, Gina Carano, D.B. Sweeney, and Bruce Willis, the cast isn’t that bad; their performances however, are terrible. And the writing is incredibly poor; full of stereotypical characters and lame tropes. Yet the fast pacing brings some energy to the film, and the score does a good job at creating tension and suspense. Still, Extraction is painfully formulaic and their no fun to any of the action.
With Bruce Willis now synonymous with 'Straight to DVD' I'm really not sure why I gave this movie a shot. Started off promising then about 5 minutes in it hit rock bottom and just sank lower and lower. Parts of it smack of them trying to create a 'Bourne-esque' style atmosphere within CIA HQ (in respect of which they score about 3 out of a 100) the rest is just plain second rate B movie crap with characters poorly cast, spouting lousily scripted dialogue and a storyline that's just plain limp. It's beyond belief that Willis (playing the CIAs absolute BEST agent - Leonard Turner) gets kidnapped and the CIA call in the best (but surely she must be second best) agent they have, Victoria, a 'Friends' type half-soaked, trying waaaay to hard to be cool and funny, dizzy female who's about as menacing as Donald Duck (and not half so funny or clever) who THEN proceeds to play nothing more than second fiddle to another wannabe agent who's actually even better than her (so she's third best now right?) who just HAPPENS to be, yes you've guessed it, dear old Len's son and our Vic's ex. I mean, seriously?? One of the real dialogue lows was when Victoria (the miscast Friends 007) says "You know what this totes reminds me of". Are you kidding or what! Does anyone other than 13 year olds even talk like that anymore? If you happen to slog your way through this waiting for the plot (and inevitable twist) to unfold you'll realise you'd have got a better twist from untangling your shoelaces. If this even ever made it to the DVD bins I'm guessing it's still there.
Willis. Carano. Lutz. Miller. 4 reasons not to watch this pathetic attempt at an action movie.
Disappointing. in 1 word: "poor".
This is a very bad movie!
Why did I just watch this. 0/10

Not sure why I gave this film a chance. It was poor. Poorly shot, poorly acted, poor dialogue, poor action. Poor. The whole thing made zero sense due to it trying to be cleverer than it actually is. Was only hour and a half, but an hour and half of my life I'll never get back.
