I'm all on board for this kind of 'feminist' pre-code movie, and not even the inevitable traditional ending could spoil the glee I felt while watching this.
Female, directed by Michael Curtiz (Angels with Dirty Faces, Casablanca) is also proof that good directors consistently make good movies.
