Glorious 2022

I do not know what to say about this movie. Was it bad? No. Was it good? No. Was it Mediocre? No. Is it a MUST-WATCH? Meh. This is a movie you can take or leave either way you do not lose.

Everything I wanted from a cosmic horror. I love single location movies and that's how you do it right. Perfect blend of horror and comedy. Lots of blood and J.K. Simmons' voice is glorious! Also I laughed a lot when I realized why it's called Glorious.

Anyone else sitting in front of the TV, pinching their tongue with their fingers and saying the words?

Chamber plays are always tricky, but this was all in all a solid one. It's fun, weird, absurd, a lil gory and entertaining. I enjoyed the end very much, normally it could be something to ruin a movie, but here I was happy! I think I have to start a cosmic-horror list now with all those movies coming to my attention. Great stuff!

As a B movie, it knows how to take advantage of the modesty of its tools, avoiding the use of visual effects and limiting itself to just the right dose of gore. And it intelligently reflects on the position of the human being in the universe and the consequences of our actions, but at the same time offering enough doses of viscous "Lovecraftian" terror and dark humor so that the approach is not too pretentious.

I got trapped in a bathroom once. I never had an ancounter with a God though (that came later). Glorious is an unusual film but for the most part, it is weirdly entertaining.

That was awful, so please don't waste your time.

A wonderful piece of cosmic horror/comedy that never fails to amaze me. It's deliciously bleak. There's a fun, tense vibe throughout this thing, which is impressive, given its confined mostly to a single location. The mixing of comedic and serious elements works so wonderfully, further elevated by the ridiculously entertaining characters and their interactions. The film is not particularly scary, but there's some great splattery fun and just like every good cosmic horror it gives you that sense of uneasiness from an imminent cosmic threat. The characters could have been explored more, but they're seriously so fun to watch!!

3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Glorious’:

  1. I knew I heard J. Jonah Jameson in that stall.

  2. The scariest part of this movie was the physical contact he came into with everything in that bathroom.

  3. I saw the “twist” coming early on in those flashbacks. Wish it weren’t as obvious. Otherwise, it was nice to see Jason Stackhouse again in a decent flick.

Lovecraft in a crappy toilet with J.K. Simmons. If that doesn't make you bump it to the top of your watch list, you probably won't enjoy it.

For being set in a public bathroom next to a gloryhole, it was pretty good.

This movie sucked. And boring also.
