Hercules 1997

One of my favourite Disney animation films, very underrated. Has beautiful songs and three dimensional characters!

One of my favorite Disney movies. Such a great heartfelt plot that everyone can relate to. The music is iconic and uplifting as it fits in perfectly with the good plot development. The story follows the kidnapping of a child of the gods and how that child realizes the real truth when he grows up and how he goes to the ends of the Earth to fulfill his destiny and reunite with his birth parents.

Historically inaccurate? Totally yes; but despite that fact this movie is really good from the animation to the music. A must watch for everybody.

The definition of a meh film, at least for me.

'Hercules' doesn't stick a connection, I felt very unfulfilled throughout. I have little negatives, yet there isn't much the other way either. I like the cast, but that's honestly about it.

James Woods, Danny DeVito and Rip Torn all give noteworthy performances in the roles of Hades, Phil and Zeus. However, Tate Donovan as the titular character is forgettable, as is Roger Bart's voice when Hercules sings.

Bart isn't helped by the very average music, none of which is memorable to me. The plot is mild, one that is quite easy to predict and doesn't produce any thrilling moments. The animation is actually OK, satisfactory for sure.

I can see this is very well rated by others, which I respect. For me, though, it isn't any good.

I have a lot of nostalgia for this but I it still holds up today. Some great songs and terrific voice acting. Danny Devito as a goat man and James Woods as Hades are perfect.

this was a bit boring no?

In a Rags to Riches quest of a strong, attractive, but bullied freak to find his father, then meeting a love interest and having to confront a humorous goofy Scar-wannabe villain, this movie wasn't unique or different from any other movie at all.
It all felt like a goofy parody of some movie of the same archetypes.

I suppose this movie's job was to make people laugh and show some sentiment for appreciating people's talents. It failed at that. I never laughed. In fact the eye ball and disgusting stuff was just immature childhood bogus. Being godly strong and muscular as a talent wouldn't be relatable to anyone.

Job, far from well done.

Classic Disney film that I looked forward to getting back around to. Does it hold up with all the Pixar films of the same era? Probably not. But this is a rock-solid film that serves as the male counterpart to the Disney princess genre.

Rating: 4/5 - 85% - Would Recommend

One of the last installments of the 'Disney Renaissance', Hercules is simply a good film. Is it the best the Renaissance had to offer? Not at all. It is however a must see for any Disney fan, if only once, for the music and voice performances of DeVito, Woods, & Egan. Very Enjoyable.

Imma keeps this one short, I love this film because it is just the perfect animated film as it is not too complicated for kids but at the same time it is perfect for adults as it doesn't have too many songs but when it does it is super catchy and also there are jokes in this specifically for adults for sure.

Perfect family film and the animation is just so beautiful, I really miss this old hand-drawn style of animation.

“From zero to hero...” In their 35th animated feature Disney kidifies the classic Greek legend of Hercules. The story follows a young Hercules as he discovers that he’s the son of Zeus, but in order to take his rightful place on Mount Olympus he will have to prove himself a true hero. The film relies heavily on anachronistic humor and pop-culture parodies, which really dates it and creates an uneven tone. The musical numbers also lack consistency, and aren’t that memorable. However, there are some great performance from James Woods, Danny DeVito, and Rip Torn, who all bring a lot of energy to the film. Disney’s first foray into old world mythology, Hercules is definitely one of their more interesting adaptations (though not their most successful).
