Metro 1997

Eddie Murphy is cop/negotiator who is obsessed with vengeance on Michael Korda (Michael Wincott) who killed his partner. Murphy is of course told to stay off the case but stays on it anyway.
Metro is a decent action movie that feels pure Hollywood. Like Eddie Murphy is in the movie universe of Last Action Hero. Nothing feels realistic but that’s part of the fun.

The bad guy is obsessed with Eddie Murphy.

"Aww, c'mon man! Who am I? Red Fox? I can't roll in that shit!"

While scrolling through Disney+ I came across Metro and it sounded really familiar and then I remembered, my father used to rent this movie every once in a while and I did see bits and pieces of it when I was young and the best part is what I remembered. The scene with the cable car is really well done. Is the scene that when I saw it again I remember.

Anyway Metro is an 90's action movie starring Eddie Murphy who is helped by Michael Rapaport and the bad guy is played brilliantly by Michael Wincott.

And you expect that there would be one-liners by Eddie Murphy but not really at all. It mostly is played as a straight up action movie. The ending is a bit over the top but the rest of it works. Can't believe it doesn't have more views here over on Letterboxd. So if you haven't seen this one yet, it is worth a shot for sure.
