It's Super Cheesy Of All Time Good Comedy
I shouldn't but I do indeed like me some acapella and cheesey teen American movies
good music, Anna Kendrick is too cute... the rest is meh at best.
Great movie !
Anna Kendrick... 'nuff said.
Great music, too!
Anna Kendrick is just beautiful
Great Fun!! Cool music! what else for a relax Sunday ? :D
Comedy version of high school musical, a joy to watch more than once
Pretty bad! At least decent song choice.
But the acting if you want to call it that, is terrible.
And 100% not funny! Way too many not funny jokes. Ruins it for me.
Then again, I'm no fan of comedy, just stupid to me.
Deeeeeeck da harrs wit bows of horry fah rahrah-rahrah rah rah raaahhh raahhhhhhhh
Was so high when i saw this movie..didnt know what to feel..there are singing in this movie pretty nice, but the thing is..they are singing in this movie..:/
I would give this movie a 6. The story is just boring and predictable. The drama is okay but not anything to care about. Featured songs were good. Other than that there is nothing better to say about this movie.
I thought I was going to enjoy this movie, but 80% of the jokes were really bad and not funny at all.
I found it pretty overrated, some truly funny moments and characters, but the song choices were questionable, the plot screams cliche and some of the jokes relied on the lowest types of humour.
This movie isn't bad. That bad. But to be honest it's not good either. Only good moments in it are when they are singing. It's watchable for average Glee fan. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Beats me why this movie is rated so high.
I saw this today at an advanced screening in London. I went in quite frankly expecting a remake of the same old Glee-School-Musical but was pleasantly surprised - may not be flick of the year but definitely the best of it's genre thus far, which I'm seldom a fan of. Don't go in expecting anything but it's humour makes it very entertaining. I do not however recommend you see this at the Cinema of your own volition.
i actually had fun watching this.
Honestly a pretty funny movie with a good story. The singing was also pretty solid.
this came out in 2012 but doesn't feel a day over 2008
Funny, entertaining, emotional, uplifting. This film about a young college freshman who finds her place in a ocapela group is really well done. The casting is really good and plot development nice and smooth. There are several hilarious moments throughout the film as the main character learns to find her place and she helps the group go on to win nationals.
"You guys are gonna get pitch-slapped so hard, your man boobs are gonna concave."
Wow this is actually good. It is funny, witty and makes fun of itself. I always thought it was going to take itself too seriously but I am glad that was not the case.
Honestly? I had a great time watching this. Some of it felt very meta and like the screenwriters knew exactly what they were doing when they wrote it. Other bits were a bit were just pure cliché and one dimensional but still pretty damn entertaining. And girls. Hot.
More entertaining than anticipated.
I enjoyed myself watching 'Pitch Perfect', simply put. That's largely thanks to pleasant music choices and a fun cast. The plot isn't anything crazy good but the aforementioned things are done nicely.
Anna Kendrick (Beca) is enjoyable as the lead, she is supported by Skylar Astin (Jesse) who I did find a little bit hit-and-miss to be honest. Rebel Wilson (Fat Amy) and Brittany Snow (Chloe) are the only ones of the rest that stood out to me, though all of the The Barden Bellas are solid in actual fact. Elsewhere, Adam DeVine (Bumper) is amusing.
Don't get me wrong there a few moments that are cringe and some jokes do not land, but for the vast majority it's a fun watch - in my opinion, anyway. Onto the sequels!
I recognize that in no ways is this a perfect movie. It can be a bit cheesy, I get that. But overall it's a fun and simple watch. You don't have to think too hard but can instead just enjoy it. The music was very well picked along with the actors. There were quite a few funny moments and I really enjoyed them all.
Definitely a feel good film, gotta resist singing along if you're watching whilst travelling. There are a lot of good songs in here and whilst it's difficult to believe that they just knock up a perfectly choreographed and practiced routine on the spot, you can just look past it and enjoy the music.
The ending could've been executed better. They win the ICCAs as you'd hope from such a good routine, but the way that they tell the watcher that they won is really disappointing. It's a huge thing, and should've gotten centre stage announcement. Regardless, still a good film.
OK - so PITCH PERFECT 3 is in theatres now, and I recently heard a reviewer say, "The latest installment in the biggest [box office?, rated? Hit?] of ....!" I can't remember how they finished the statement but I remember thinking, "Huh? Maybe I've missed something here?" So I thought... Anna Kendrick - good singer; a cappella - I enjoy the blending of great harmonies over vocal percussion; Rebel Wilson - an off the chain talent from Down Under. Maybe I AM missing something. Maybe I should binge 1 & 2 and go see 3 in theatres. Well, I've just finished #1 and I don't think I'll be rushing out to buy a ticket. I'd give it a 5 (Meh) if it wasn't for the occasional good mash up, for which I raised my rating to a 6 (fair) out of 10. Beside those rare moments, the story is weak, the humour is low, and I was almost bored. So I look at the reviews by those who loved it and I read, "guilty pleasure", "Anna Kendrick", and I see what the draw was. But as for what it was the BIGGEST of, I've decided it must have been box-office. It seems to earn around 14 times what it costs to make it, but the average rating hover between 6 and 7. I guess this was due to wishful thinking for movie goers looking for light hearted fare. I'll still finish #2 and see if Hailee Steinfeld adds value. [Comedic Musical Romance].
Definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. I love me some Anna Kendrick.
I was expecting not to like it. But I did! Looking forward to see next part.
this is why i love to sing, it's 1Am and i'm about to wake up my fam with some high notes over this movie
Little bit bored... at least they sang well enough ;>
I'm just crazy for these kind of movies. Always gives me a smile on my face.

This movie represents everything that is wrong in modern media.

Better than I was expecting. The music was good even if it's not what I'd normally listen to.
