As you make your way through the movie, it's abundantly clear that the emotions, decisions, and actions of the characters involved are why you're watching. At any point, they could ruin the movie.
Watching a couple struggle and cope with the emotions of losing a young child is really the focus of this movie.
Fortunately for Rabbit Hole, I never got the feeling anyone was underperforming or out of place. I think as a whole the movie stood firmly planted in a good, not great, movie with all the casting fitting together well.
In the end, this is an emotional drama. The story doesn't really progress, because there isn't really a story arc to it, but that's okay for what this movie wanted to be.
Very few movies affect me and make me cry as much as this did. Beautiful and heartbreaking performances all around, especially Nicole and Miles. Loved it.
