An absolutely wonderful film about the making of «Sgt. Pepper» (it’s definitely up there with 1992’s «The Making of Sgt. Pepper»). Howard Goodall does a superb job of guiding the viewers through the real magic of the album: Modulations, tape experimenting, backgrounds – and it’s all explained pedagogically and entertainingly. It uses real Beatles music, both album tracks and outtakes. Not to go all cliché on you, but a splendid time is guaranteed for all with this documentary.
