Saw advance screening in Brooklyn as part of "Rooftop Films" and NewFest LGBTQ Film Festival, with talk back afterwards with the director, crew, and most of the cast (minus Udo). I found this low-budget film, set in the exciting backdrop of Sandusky, OH, endearing with excellent acting and cinematography. Udo Kier wins as a geriatric hair dresser escaping from his nursing home to fill an impromptu request from a former client. I enjoyed!

The swan song is not only in the elderly figure of Pat, but also in a lost time, in an impoverished city, in a different way of being homosexual: "I wouldn’t even know how to be gay anymore." A partly hallucinatory journey that builds a character better (Udo Kier with a moving brooding look) than the journey he takes. But there are unforgettable moments and there is a bittersweet look at the past.
