One of those movies where the script was good but they chose the wrong director and the production wasn't great either. The tone of the movie is all over the place, sometimes it's comedic, then goes back to tragic, the soundtrack sometimes feels out of place in certain scenes and the cinematography is bad. At least, it's not boring. Again, the script is decent, it just needed better production.
