I went into this wondering why I had never heard of it, and came away wondering the same thing
I don't know why this is rated so badly. Maybe it is because it is so South Auckland (a bonus for me - I love seeing places I know on screen). Maybe becomes it is based around the Tongan community (but it could be anyone really). Maybe because it has a weird wrestling back story (which is fine with me) and includes some pretty hard core street based wrestling. Maybe because it includes gangs, something which is a sensitive point in NZ when we like to think of ourselves as a friendly and equitable society.
Is it movie making at it's finest? Absolutely not. But it is entertaining NZ action comedy with a Pasifika theme. I enjoyed it.
It's also the second wrestling based story I have seen Uli Latukefu in (he was also in Young Rock - another production I was pleasantly surprised by, and the reason I found this movie when I was checking who the actors were)
