A very clever approach to the traditional story of the "Little Prince" which add even more subtle criticism. This story is one of a kind because the viewer can choose between a kids story or go into a deeper level and have a philosophic lesson for life. This is one of my favourite books ever and this film should me a must watch to kids and grown-ups. Just simple, deep and loving as life should be :D
Perfeitoooo!!!! Simples e complexo... cada um pode escolher a sua interpretação.
The original title of the film is Le petit prince.
Was that a true story? I could swear it seemed like it was.
My Uncle, Gerald Bowden, gave me the book when I was a child...the inscription read, "Mike, you will come to understand this." I didn't read it until I past my teens, but it was all the more beautiful since I could understand the symbolism and poignant subtlety. Thank you, Uncle Dake, and thank you to the film makers for this fresh spin of realism.
Delicado, minimalista, suave, imaginativo e reflexivo: 8,9
This movie is so beautifully done. It captures the essence of the book completely not leaving anything important out. The end adds a nice touch to the story and overall it leaves the espectador hopeful. Just like the Little Prince said he was, at one point. The animation itself is explendid and you can tell that the directors put a lot of time and love into it. The scenes were the animation were made with paper, I presume, were perfect and probably very hard to accomplish so magnificently. Couldn't think of a way to make this piece of art better. It is, definitely, a masterpiece!
Beautiful.
(You know trakt, one word sometimes is more than enough to perfectly express what needs to be said about a movie or anything for that matter.)
She wore a
Raaaaaaspberry beret..The kind you find, in a second hand store..Raaaspberry beret..And if it was warm, she wouldn't wear much more..Raspberry beret..I think I love her
This adaptation of the world famous tale, The little prince, directed by Mark Osborne, manages to mix the contents of the book, written by Antoine de Saint Exupérie, to a modern context. The main character of the movie, in fact, is no longer the prince of the title, but a little girl (without a defined name, since she represents all the children of the world) that, even before she grows up, is about to be sucked from the gray mechanism and homologation of adult life. Eager to help her to be successful at work when she grows, her mother organizes her life only in function of the entrance exam to the school Werth for future managers. Everything goes according to the plan, until the girl becomes friends with her new neighbour, a senior airman who will share with her an amazing story, that of his encounter with the little prince.
Although at the beginning the two main characters don’t seem more than a little pedantic girl and a crazy old man, their personal development and the birth of their friendship, fully serves the function of speaking to both children and adults. The plot development is linear enough despite being divided into two parts, one concerning the girl, and the other concerning the history of the aviator and the prince. The two parts are also differentiated by the animation technique that is used: for the first the three-dimensional and for the second the stop motion. Also the soundtrack by Hans Zimmer is adequate enough to make the atmosphere of the film.
This story gives us many feelings and in particular there is a strong sense of nostalgia for the childhood. In addition you will learn that:
the essential is invisible to the eye: the film shows the adult world in which people do not give importance to what they really are and to people’s feelings, but they prefer the materialistic side of life. Everyone is busy accumulating and no one will care to cultivate inner richness. We can reconnect this to the choice of the prince to separate his mortal body to the spirit to reach the rose that he loves so much.
You become responsible forever for what you have tamed: the film explains the value of bonds and especially friendship. In particular, the affection that is established between the girl and the old man was built thanks to the time they spent together, because the wanting to donate one’s time to a person and the will to know what a person really is make it special in our eyes. Also the movie explains that when the feelings are real, no matter the distance between people and the separation of death is accepted better.
The strength of this film is to be the transposition of a book already well known that has helped its way to success, and its weakness is that maybe the second part is a bit disconnected from the rest of the film, difficult to understand for the viewer who has never read the story.
I Really like what the movie adds to the original story, is really touching.
Shameless bastardisation of the source material
This one's not for me. I get that they are trying to do a different approach with this major change on the narrative, but it just doesn't work. The main appeal of the novel The Little Prince is the Little Prince and removing him as the central mover of the story takes away from the charm. Plus, the addition of that world the little girl is living in eliminates the atmosphere that the novel had, making it different and different does not always equate to being good.
However, I want to commend one thing, the animation. The animation they used for the real life scenes was really horrible and I hated it so much. But the animation they used for the stories is simply majestic. If they stayed true to the source material and used this animation for all scenes, then it would have been such a delightful watch.
essentially the magic left the chat at 40 minutes left.
enjoyable for the rest of it, and the plot and animation in it are so nice. but then now thinking about it, the last 40 minutes also ruined the beginning for me, with the focus on her having to be Good and Follow the Rules and do her best to get into this school and moving to get to this special School, okay. that's what making kid movies all about co-orps and super adult things it just....ruins them for me.
Semplicemente stupendo, consigliato sia a chi adora l'opera originale che a chi non ha mai letto il libro
Fine adaptation of the classic tale. Beautifully animated. For the young and the young at heart
With an added framing narrative and a mix between stop motion and CG anime this is perhaps the definitive film version of the Little Prince, the framing narrative is a love story to the power of the original book.
Beautiful!!!! So deep and touching!!! I couldn´t stop crying.
Me hizo recordar muchas cosas que olvide del libro. Perfecta.
Heartwarming :")

I've watched this movie with the only person I have ever know I could do it. It's been one of the most beautiful experience of my life. I knew I'd loved it. Simple, but so deep! Really touching, so touching I couldn't stop my tears.
