The Mortal Fortune 1989

A totally absurd world. Starts with a guy having a hard time in the jungle where he tries to fish what turns out to be stamps. First problem: this introduction scene is way way too long. Even more as it is closely followed by an also very long scene of rats being pushed around with high pressure water. Once this is passed, it gets a bit better.

On his way to bring the stamps back to his boss, he encounters and passes by lots of other absurd situations. Second problem: while all these situations can probably be described interestingly at length in a book, in a 15 seconds scene in a black and white with barely any dialogue movie, that is much much harder.

The main topic seems to be the abuse at the hands of his boss, everything still being mostly absurd.

Certainly very hard to adapt, and it is not really a success.
