What a genius satire. This was so over the top, that it was a gift. Will Ferell, the upside-down cop-story and the whole Style of the movie was just genius.
I didn't laugh that hard for months.
If you ever saw Lethal Weapon or a similar 80's or 90's movie and you liked it, i think you will will absolutly like this one.

I had a hard time watching this one out... Stupid jokes that hardly made me smile. Overall horrible movie and waste of time (almost 2 hours)
Clever and amusing take on buddy cop flicks. Good chemistry between 2 leads. Surprised there hasn't been a sequel

There is not much to say about this other than I love it. I loved it when I first saw it and still laugh at the same scenes whenever I rewatch it. The synergy between Ferrell, Wahlberg and Keaton is awesome, and all the Eva Mendes scenes crack me up too. Definitely recommend if you like comedies.
First ten minutes of the film are the best and then slowly and steadily declines. There are some funny scenes and some cringey scenes and its too long. Steve Coogan does his typical one-trick pony acting style that makes you wonder how he ever manages to get work in Hollywood. He should stick to what he is (was?) good at and keep churning out character comedy series for the BBC.
Well... there's a couple of hours of my life I'll never get back.
A truly dreadful film that is lacking in every single area... Bad acting, bad writing, one dimensional characters, a terrible plot, bad lighting and cinematography... I honestly cannot think of a single thing about this movie that I liked.
Will Ferrell is a dreadful one trick pony who acts exactly the same in every single movie he has ever done... really, really badly. You can't even say he's doing it on purpose anymore as he's tried his hand at some more dramatic roles and this absurd personality is still ever present no matter what the role.
I know some people think this is supposed to be a satirical look at these types of movies... but that was only the story thrown around AFTER the movie was seen to be so poor.
There isn't a single noteworthy thing about the film at all.

Tired of being overlooked and underappreciated, detectives Hoitz and Gamble attempt to become the top cops of their precinct by taking down an investment banker who’s running an embezzlement scheme. Ferrell and Wahlberg deliver strong performance and have great comedic chemistry together. Plus, Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson have incredibly funny cameo roles. The comedy is especially well-written, and does a good job at lampooning the cop genre. Full of laughs, The Other Guys is wildly entertaining and fun.
A good parody film of action films, although it could explore the differences from reality even more. Still, the film offers some pretty funny moments.

This movie will make you appreciate Hot Fuzz and 21 Jump Street. It’s completely formulaic and predictable, with most of the comedy not even being close to hitting the target. There’s an occasional laugh to be found between all the dumb and annoying stuff, however I’m pretty sure this movie would be a lot more entertaining with Sam Jackson and The Rock in the leading roles. It’s very fratty and loud, like this could only come out during the time where The Hangover got popular, because in many ways it feels like it’s directed by Michael Bay or Todd Philips. Filmmaking ranges from bland to bad, and most scenes are simply dull.

Not for me.
The jokes feel very dated and multiple scenes feel completely unwarranted nor linked to the overarching story and added in for either cheap laughs or padding so that the film doesn't end before the hour mark.

A fun ride. I saw it three years ago, rewatched it yesterday. Definitely worth a rewatch or two. So many hilarious lines!

I think I only have seen the beginning of this one which always stood me by. Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson are perfect in the beginning and they just crack me up.
Enter Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, they just took it to another level. The chemistry is real. I love Wahlberg bringing up peacocks every damn time. The wooden gun, Eva Mendes, Steve Coogan, the soundtrack! Holy hell its a good one! AMERICAAAA!!!! The story about Ferrell being Gator. Great stuff. The action is also fine and that damn coffee table! And damn, I wish I learned how to dance just of the sarcastic!
Anyway they also added a secret ingrediënt. Which is off course Michael bloody Keaton! He is freaking fantastic. The speech he gave? Fantastic. Keaton is just the perfect captain and salesman rolled into one, but he needs to stop making TLC references.
All in all I had a great time watching the Other Guys.
Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg serve as a pair of mismatched police detectives: half buddy cop, half odd couple. When the precinct's resident superstars (The Rock and Samuel L. Jackson, in a brief-but-hilarious partnership) meet a tragic fate, the resulting vacuum drives half the building to audition as their replacements. Everybody wants to be that guy on the front page, dressed to the nines with a noisy muscle car, suavely boasting of this week's big arrest. Despite his perennial desk-jockey status, Ferrell lets Wahlberg talk him into that sexy pursuit. And, as one might expect, soon they're in over their heads, up against some sort of loosely-defined international financial scheme.
The plot doesn't hold up to scrutiny, but The Other Guys isn't really about the narrative, anyway. The whole idea is to let Ferrell bounce off walls and run with silly side gags, just like he did in his previous collaborations with director Adam McKay. As always, that loose approach allows for some funny unscripted material, but it also produces several stale bits that hang on for too long. It's probably safe to say the formula has slipped past the sell-by date after similarly rowdy, one-note concepts like Anchorman and Talladega Nights. Wahlberg isn't the world's best straight man, either, though he holds his own in the hyper-indulgent action scenes, and Michael Keaton picks up some of that comedic slack in a slim supporting role.
As light entertainment goes, this is perfectly suitable (if extremely scattered) but it's neither as inventive nor as uproarious as McKay and Ferrell's best.
There are a few great parts and Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are fun together but it can be boring at times.
Any time I come across this and Step brothers, I end up dropping everything and watching the whole movie again. Gator's bitches better be using jimmies. Priceless.

Wahlberg and Ferrell have great chemistry which makes this movie, although I found the screenplay not to be the best and the dialogue to be kinda just stupid at times. One of my least favorites from Adam McKay but still enjoyable.
Such an underrated movie. Make sure you watch the end credits for some interesting information.

I laughed a lot. With "true" funny scenes similar to 80's comedies, different from actual comedies that makes you only smile in funny scenes and not really laugh.
Liked a lot Mark Wahlberg's character nervous with evrything and was very funny his acting. And also as always very funny Will Ferrell's acting.
Cannot expect much from the story but is very funny.
Also er war am anfang sehr lustig, hab mich weggeschmissen, aber hat dann ein wenig abgebaut. War aber im großen und ganzen eine passable Action/Komödie...
Far from awesome, but I had a few good laughs. And Id like that Face-back app for my IOS...hehe..

A lot of good moments in this movie and a alot of laugther! Watch it with friend(s). You will be quoting lines from the film with your friends for a long time! A personal favorite scene from the movie would be when they get pissed at the bar. I will be watching this movie again!
