for though it is slow and somewhat sadistic, I liked how the story takes Angelina Jolie seems to have learned from watching directing

An incredible movie of resilience and determination. Heartbreaking and moving throughout it showed a man with an infinite amount of courage, what a soldier and what a man. Angelina Jolie did really well with this movie.

This film was heartbreaking because knowing its a true story.. Jack O'Connell showed some great acting, it kept me clinging from the start, and over all it was super! 6/10

Didn´t know if this was a movie for me, what to expect. I have to admit that it was in part the fact of Jolie directing that peaked my interest. I didn´t know who Zamperini was before the movie and after watching it I can´t say I want to know more about him. This is a kind of movie that has been done a dozen times. It´s a true story so this is what happened, no complaints there. Although I must say it felt to clean at times which might be due to the PG13 rating. Visuals are nice but you expect that today. It´s a good movie in general but all in all not for me.

An ok thing. Potential was there but felt lengthy somehow.

The first half, introducing us to his life, was really well done. Always finding the right images and stories.
The second half, as a prisoner of war, only consisted of standard elements, as seen in dozens and dozens of similar movies.

Movies based on real events are one of my favorites and even more so when they tell the story so well, an excellent movie to watch over and over again.

Cuenta la historia de Louis, un atleta olímpico, que por cosas -que no explican en la peli- termina allí. Muestra la maldita travesia que pasó, no voy a negar que las escenas y los hechos llegaron a ser tan duras que me vi obligada a pausarlo para retomarlo luego.

Good movie i would give it a 7.4/10..Jolie did great in directing i liked it a lot and movie was well made..I would prefer though if it was shorter..

Fabulous story, and troubling, but also weirdly bland.

I will start by saying that I do like war movies, so it wasn't that this isn't "for me". My disappointments are based on: bad directing, bad script, bad cinematography (too colorful, fake and the camera work wasn't great), the scenery wasn't real enough and the acting was poor. Which is too bad, for the story had much potential.

Another war true story but very bad made it by Jolie, was to slow, too long and the only good thing was the good acting of the lead actor, this woman should be dedicated just to adopt kids around the world and nothing more.

Oh wow.. This movie has left me utterly speechless, it was gripping and kept me interested from the first few minutes.
