Annabeth Chase is a prosecutor with great respect and reputation. He has only lost one case in the second episode of the first season. She is married to a construction worker, Jack Chase (Christian Kane), and has a young daughter. In the first episode (pilot), she returns from her maternity leave for 12 weeks to meet her new boss, Maureen Scofield (Kimberly Elise), who has been promoted to that position instead of her.
