This is definitely the darkest timeline...

Yep, this was definitely one of the worst episodes yet...
The exchange of Pierces actor (in Abends happy place) was weird (and Chevy Chase is not really replaceable, so just remove the character, dont change the actor [look at the horrible setup of Two and a Half Men after the change...])...
They'll have to increase the pacing... Or bring some real fun... This was kinda random...

it definitely could've been worse, but it should've been better. that's the only way i know how to describe it.

Forgive me but I liked it. Nothing lasts forever, except for greendale babies and shitty multicam shows. That's it.

That was pretty forced. Hopefully it's just a case of a strange opener trying to find it's feet.

i think there was a meta layer of 2 1/2 men in effect, a non-subtle satire of the US comedy from friends, big bang theory, and the chuck lorre effect -- good premise, lazy comedy -- in abed TV that was jammed into this episode, that was just not spread out in the entire episode.
i.e. the wish sections, didn't fit in, the dean was overused, to the point of britta'ing the episode. and the prank section didn't merge at all. one or two sections should have been removed, each pairing was forced, each section skit was disconnected, and the dialogue was discontinous.
i suspect the next episode will set the tone for the series, which is not a good start for a season opener. it's like they're trying too hard to compensate by stitching a zombie episode together from different writers into one amalgam episode.
