Fred takes baby Joshua to Derek and Doreens house.Later in the Rovers, Fiz is annoyed that Tyronne announced that she was 'his' outside her bedroom window to Kirk. Tyronne then gets and idea, he proposes to Fiz.

Fiz gets Tyronne and Kirk to compete for her affections. She tells them both that they have to think of the top three qualities that she has. Roy and Hayley inform Tracy that they've chose yellow for the colour of the babys room. When Tracy screams that her baby has kicked, Roy and Hayley get excited. All this attention is getting on Tracys nerves and she storms out of the cafe. Tracy is still jealuos if Karen and Steves happiness. When the baby kicks again, Tracy persuades Steve to feel it. Instead of joining his fiancee Karen at the wedding fayre, Steve decides to help Tracy out. By helping her out, he made up her new dining table that he helped her get from the shops.

Nick and Maria come to the conclusion that they have nowhere to be be alone together. This is mainly because Gail keeps inferring in their relationship and being too comforting when Maria goes round to Nicks. Tyronne tries to make up with Kirk so that they're friends again, but he declines. Fiz is after some advice on her man problem. She therefore turns to Roy and tells him that she considers him to be her father figure. Following this comment, Roy is overwhelmed. Tracy tells Blanche that she will definately be back in her old jeans by easter. Following this revelation, Blanche is stunned by what Tracy expects.

The green eyes monster come out when Tracy walks in on Karen and Steves snogging. Kirk goes to a jewellery store to try and buy a ring better than the one Tyronne got Fiz. When Kirk sees how expensive the rings are, he decides to steal one. Kirk proposes to Fiz with the stolen ring and she accepts. What Kirk didn't know was that he was caught on video camera. The video camera clip is shown on the news ans Tyronne points him out. Tyronne debates whether to tell Fiz or not. Bev and Charlie go on a date. Candice thinks that Jason has been messing with her feelings, so she dumps him. Later on in The Rovers, Harry and Eileen convince Jason that the only way to get Candice back is to show her some respect.

Special double episode. Cilla accuses Norris of ogling her when he tries to collect a £25 outstanding paper bill from Les. Mike is going on a fortnight's holiday to Spain, leaving Nick in charge. Nick warns Janice that he'll fire her as soon as he gets the chance. Fiz's ring is incredibly tight. She tells Kirk that they can take it to the jewellers later. Tyrone tells Kirk that he saw him on TV, and that he's considering grassing him up. Nick plants an almost empty half-bottle of vodka in Janice's bag and sacks her for gross misconduct. Candice is pleased that Eileen is so enthusiastic about she and Jason being back together. Tyrone tells a horrified Fiz about Kirk stealing the ring. Jack persuades him not to go to the police to turn Kirk in. Kirk sees a policeman and jumps to the conclusion that Tyrone has turned him in. He goes on the run, leaving a distraught Fiz. Harry warns Nick that the girls will walk out if he sacks Janice and quietly suggests that Nick may have planted the bottle himself. Nick reinstates Janice. Eric Gartside arrives for his date with Shelley. He immediately reclaims £10 that Jack borrowed four years ago.

Norris finds a small article in the newspaper about Rita's charges. Cilla ouhes Rita even further into the ground when she demands the money off Rita. Kirk decides that he's not going on the run. Therefore him and Fiz go to the police station and tell the police officers in charge of the case that the ring has been returned. Kirk is hoping that there will no longer be a crime that needs to be solved. Candice places an advertisement for Eileen in the 'lonely hearts' section of the newspaper, without Eileen knowing.

Steve desperately phones round venues to try and cover up the cancellation of his wedding. When Claire arrives home, Maria insists that Ashley has really missed her. Obviously, Claire doesn't believe her. Rita tells Norris that she would love him to buy the Kabin as he is the best owner (apart from her) that there could be. Fiz gets Les to confirm her suspicions about the courtcase. Chesneys confession to Fiz isn't enough to use on her mother. Ciaran confides in Tracy to see whether she will ruin Steve and Karens wedding day. Gail talks to Martin regarding Katys growing friendship with Karl.

Special double episode In the first episode, Tracy went into labour during an arguement with Steve. Hayley revealed to Deirdre, Blanche and Ken that Roy and Tracy were married. In the second episode, Tracy tried to convince Steve to leave Karen and go with her and their newborn baby girl. Roy began to get nervous as he thought that the longer Tracy was with her baby, the more she can bond with her.

Tracy breaks down in tears as she thinks about the prospect of losing her baby. Hayley is excited when Roy tells her that Tracy will be leaving the hospital today - meaning that the baby would be handed over to them. Deirdre tries to persuade her daughter to keep her new born baby girl. Steve tells Tracy that she's doing the right thing by giving the baby away. Tracy reconsiders giving her baby away until she is given some emotional blackmail by Hayley. When Tracy unwillingly hands her baby over and is given the rest of her money, she shuts the front door and sobs her heart out as she realizes what she has done.

Roy and Hayley have named their baby Patience. Blanche can't deal with losing her grandchild and therefore tells Tracy to move out. Blanche reminds Tracy that she only bought the house for her so that she could raise the child. Maria is jealous of Nick and Gail's mother - son relationship. Tracy is visited by the social worker and she promptly informs the social worker that her baby is with her father and his partner. When the social worker finds the Croppers, she tells them that the baby has to be registered. While Roy is out registering Patience, the girls from he factory go and see Hayley with the new baby. Steve is curious of how Roy and Hayley are coping with the baby. As Steve and Karen are enjoying a quiet drink in the Rovers, Liz and Andy McDonald return (Steve's mum and nonidentical twin brother). Tracy gets Patrick to drive her to Walcot Manor. Mike explains to Penny that he lied to her about going on holiday because he's not sure that he's ready to commit to anyone. To get her own back, she invites Fred out for a drink. Steve spots Tracy at the wedding. She's escorted from the premises by Steve, Dev and Andy. Tracy hides herself away in the wedding chapel, just as the bridal party arrive. Karen's looking beautiful, as her perfect wedding is about to take place. Tracy asks Kirk to tell Roy that she needs a word with him, but Roy ignores Kirk completely. The wedding vows begin, as Tracy calls for Roy to come outside for a word. Unable to ignore Tracy, Steve asks the vicar to stop and goes to get rid of Tracy. Steve tries to manhandle Tracy out of the chapel, as she shouts to Roy that she wants her baby. When Hayley tells Tracy that the baby is staying with her father, Tracy cracks and shouts out that the real father is Steve. As Karen looks to Steve in horror, he's unable to speak.

In the second of tonight's dramatic double helping of the nation's favourite soap, time stands still for Karen as she struggles to take in what is happening.
After weeks of planning and even more bragging, Karen's big day is in tatters. Tracy Barlow has stunned the congregation and destroyed Karen with the news that Steve, not Roy, is in fact the father of her daughter, and Steve can't deny that what she is saying is true!
As the shocking truth sinks in, Karen runs from the church in tears leaving Steve to chase her to the vestry with the mammoth task of persuading her that he loves her and Tracy means nothing to him.
Meanwhile Roy and Hayley have slipped out of the church amidst the mayhem and are hot footing it back to Weatherfield.
And Deirdre discovers that the sins of the daughter are enough to turn everyone against her, as the guests gossip about the day's events.

Ashley is unhappy at the prospect of Claire leaving - as she is offered a new job abroad. Andy returns to Spain. Liz lays into Tracy over nearly ruining Steve's wedding day. Dev is a bit jealous when Maya has a dinner date with a male friend. When Ken, Deirdre and Tracy arrive to get the baby Roy denies them access to the flat, repeatedly saying that he is the father. Hayley has great pleasure in telling Ken and Deirdre that they paid Tracy £25,000 to give them the baby. A guilty-stricken Tracy leaves the cafe empty handed, followed by Ken and Deirdre. When Tracy returns to the house, she breaks down in tears. She tells her family that she doesn't want the money anymore, just her baby.

The Croppers are distraught as their flat is quiet and lonely without a baby. After getting her baby back, Tracy decides to change the birth certificate and her name. Tracy wants her baby to be called Amy Barlow. Tracy also wants Steve's name to be on the birth certificate. However, when Tracy goes to get it changed, she comes across obstacles and realizes that she can't. Tracy also gets all of her savings together to give to the Croppers but she is a bit short. Her Gran comes to the rescue and offers to lend her some money. Fred has a dinner date with Penny. He therefore asks Ashley to take Josh out. Maya tells Ciaran that there may be wedding bells on the horizon for her and Dev, until Ciaran tells her that Dev has already been there with Gina.

Special double episode In the first episode Tracy is approached by Liz in the street and threatens to watch Tracy's every move. Meanwhile, Maya tricks Dev into walking out of a restaurant without paying. Maya then takes Dev on a high speed car race. Maya proposes to Dev and says that she will keep going faster until he accepts. In the second episode Maya is still speeding down the country lane waiting for Dev to answer her proposal. he accepts and then when they return home, Dev ends their relationship. Before Dev does this, he calls the restaurant and gives them his credit card numbers so that he can pay for the bill.

She isn't thinking straight, especially when she begins to think that Charlie is now secretly dating Deirdre. Eileen putt heir plan into action - making people believe that they're in love (they act very lovely dovey - lots of touching). Cilla convinces Les to mind Chesney while she goes on holiday. Sunita thinks that Dev is going to dump Maya. Maya gives Dev a bouquet of flowers, just before he proposes to her. Deirdre is less than pleased when Bev assumes that she is having an affair with Charlie.

Sarah is pleased when Todd asks if he can adopt Bethany,like Martin did with her. Maya calls her mother and tells her that she's engaged to Dev. Shelley tried to reassure her mother that Deirdre and Charlie aren't having an affair, but she doesn't want to listen. Todd is applying for a new job and asks Martin if he could give him a reference. Maria is shocked at the job offer that Claire had. Todd is upset when, returning from a chat with a social worker, he is told he can't adopt Bethany until he is 21. Tommy suspects that there's something going on between Katy and Karl. A drunken Bev goes round and tells Ken that Deirdre is, at that very moment, having it off with Charlie.

She asks Claire how she could turn down a job abroad, where she could have everything she wanted. Mike is enraged to find out that Nick applied for a job at Penny's behind his back. Audrey informs Gail of her earlier conversation with Maria. Gail is unhappy to hear that Maria is moaning about her. Audrey thinks that her daughter is purposely putting obstacles in front of Maria and Nicks relationship. Sally continues to force people to have tickets to Rosie's play. Fred cooks a dinner for Penny as they have a cosy night in. Ashley and Claire go on their first date. They're both very nervous. Things are brilliant when they catch a cab home, until Claire mentions Maxine. It is then that Ashley walks home and leaves Claire to get the cab on her own.

Ken tells Kevin that Sally tried to bribe him into doing a good review in the paper for Rosie in the play. Kevin in angry that Sally is trying to persuade people that Rosie is a star. Sophie is enraged when her mum calls her jealous of Rosie's 'talent'. Kevin accuses Sally of trying to project her dreams into Rosie. Mike gives Nick a pay rise when he finds out that Nick applied for a job at Penny's. Mike also mentions to Nick that if he puts a foot out of line, he'll sack him on the spot. Maria is annoyed when Nick buys a sports car with the money that they were saving for a flat. Fred takes Penny out for a meal while Ashley and Claire have a cosy night in. Ashley, sweet as he is, spells out 'I love you' in magnetic letters on the fridge. With their feelings out in the open, Claire and Ashley kiss.

It's Mothers Day and Tracy is at home healing her wounds. Sally tries to encourage Rosie to get into the production of Annie. Karen is furious when she sees Liz pushing Amy's pram down the street. Sally isn't very happy when she finds out the Rosie and Craig are dating. Karen kicks Liz out of the flat, and Steve does nothing to stop her. Ken and Deirdre persuade Tracy not to call the police following Karen's assault on her.

In the second episode, Fred questions Mike on why he was at Penny's the previous night. Karen, busy bemusing over there being no resemblance between the two, accidentally gets her hair stuck in the sewing machine. Lucky, she pulls herself free, but isn't very happy when she realizes she's pulled some of her expensive hair extensions out. Sally continues to interfer with the garage. She finds out that Dev gets his car serviced for free, while he has a contract for Kevin to service all the cabs. Sally therefore tells Dev that he wont get his car done for free anymore. Frankie, upset about Jamie still being in police custody, arranges to meet Vinny. What Vinny doesn't know is that he's actually going to meet Danny. Sally tries to apologize to Dev in a hope that he will carry on his contract at the garage. Tracy goes behind Deirdre's and Ken's back and asks Blanche to mind Amy. Un-be-known to Blanche, Tracy just wanted someone to look after Amy so she could have a couple of drinks in the Rovers. Maya continues to purposely blurt out to everyone that Sunita has a life-threatening illness. When Ciaran overhears Maya, he goes straight round to ask Sunita if it's true. When Danny declines Vinny's offer of dropping the charges against Jamie if he can sleep with Frankie, Danny offers him the money from the sale of his house.

Sophie's frustrated that her parents aren't paying her as much attention as Rosie. Dev desperately tries to help Sunita. The police arrive at Dev's flat, but Maya lies and they. Maya has tied Sunita to the gas cooker and she puts the gas on. Dev is tied up in another room. Maya sets fire to the shop and watches in her car at the end of the street as the shop goes up in flames. Luckily, all the neighbours join forces in a bid to save them. Ciaran saves Dev. The flat explodes and Shelley thinks she's lost him. Then Charlies staggers out of the building with Sunita over his shoulder. When Maya sees this, she tries to run them over, but crashes into a building instead. Even this doesn't kill her and she revs up her engine for another go, until a lorry crashes into her. Is Maya dead?

Liz tries to calm everybody and she and Steve beg everybody not to call the police. Later, Tracy's fears worsen when she hears Karen tell Steve that he wants Tracy to suffer like she's suffered! Karen hangs up and tells baby Amy that her baby died! Steve soon gets another call from Karen telling him that she's at the red rec. Steve takes Tracy but they struggle to find a way in! When they finally do get in they find the Barlow's car up in flames and of course Steve and Tracy assume the worst . . .

Steve tries to convince Tracy not to go to the police and get Karen arrested for kidnapping Amy. Karen is shocked to discover that Steve thought that she had harmed Amy. Jack has to have his Christmas dinner with Frankie Baldwin and the family because him and Vera had an argument over him giving her last years Christmas card. Steve makes a decision - will he forgive Karen or tell her to go?

Fred has to stand in for Tyrone to give the best man's speech when last minute nerves get the better of him. The speech is a success, as is that of Yvonne (Claire's mother) who tells everyone that decisions are hard to make but Claire has made the right one today! After Katy's shock proposal earlier, Martin is left a little unsettled and bites Tyrone's head off when he's approached to do the best man's speech. Later, Martin explains to Katy that he's not ready to get married and that if they did choose to get married he'd want them to make the decision together. Karen can't quite believe what she's hearing. It takes some convincing by Steve to get her to leave but eventually she does so. She tells Steve that she'll go and stay with a mate. Although he doesn't show it in front of Karen, Steve is clearly devastated by her departure - he breaks down in tears when she's gone out the door . . .

Deirdre secretly mets up with Bev. Liz tries to console her son. As Claire and Ashley prepare to go on their honeymoon, she declares that she in scared of tunnels. When she suggests flying, Ashley is forced to admit that he's scared of flying. In the end, the newly-married couple decide to take the ferry. Tracy is over the moon when she hears that Karen has gone for good. Jim phones Liz and Steve to wish them a late Merry Christmas and Steve doesn't tell him that Karen has gone, even when Jim starts telling Steve that he's mucky to be with Karen, especially is she makes him happy. Meanwhile, Angela inadvertently gives Katy an idea on how to get Martin to marry her.

Having informed Shelley that theres something wrong with Bev, Deirdre sneaks Shelley out the back and into her house. Bev confronts her daughter Shelley about Charlie. Martin apologizes to Warren for hurting his leg. Roy has trouble with on of the customers.

Katy lets slip to Violet that she secretly plans to get pregnant so that Martin will have to marry her. Norris is curious as to what happened to Karen. Steve drunkenly humiliates Tracy while he is in the Rovers. However, Tracy hasn't given up and when she helps him home, she tries it on with him again.
