1x01 Horton Hatches the Egg

Maisie the bird is tired of sitting on her egg day after day waiting for it to hatch. She would rather be off playing so she looks for a replacement. She sees Horton the elephant walking by and talks him into taking her spot. Maisie goes off to Palm Beach and has such a good time she decides not to go back. Horton sits through the winter on the egg waiting for Maisie to return. Hunters come in the springtime and capture Horton while he is still sitting on the egg to take him back to America to sell him to a circus.

The situation reaches its high point when Finagle steps in and offers Mayzie a place in stardom, based from the daisy in her head.
Mayzie herself, for reasons unknown, takes the offer, not long before she finds out the hard way how fame & fortune can bring unhappiness. It's some time after her daisy disappears that Mayzie realizes that the love of her family & friends is what really matters. From that point on, things are back to normal -- except for a few of Mayzie's daisies sprouting up, every now & then.
