Seinfeld
Jerry Seinfeld is a very successful stand-up comedian, mainly because the people around him offer an endless supply of great material. His best friend is George Costanza, a bald, whiny loser who craves the kind of success Jerry has but is never willing to do what it takes to get it. Jerry's neighbor Kramer often barges into his apartment and imposes onto his life. In the second episode Jerry's former girlfriend Elaine Benes comes back into his life, and the four of them are able to form a friendship together. The episodes were rarely very plot-heavy, focusing more on mundane conversations and situations that could be found during everyday life in New York.

@marxthebills How was season 9 atrocious? Sure it wasn't as good as some of the previous seasons and the finale was pretty bad, but besides that it still had a ton of good, funny moments and episodes and it's still a lot better than many other sitcoms.

Can't compare to the modern comedies of course; but in the fight between the "old and simplicistic" sitcoms (vs. Friends) Seinfeld wins so much. Not too much brainpower needed, but much more interesting stories than Friends has. I simply passed on this show because I always feared the huge amount of episodes (that I now need to watch)
@marxthebills Wrong!
Lots of replay-ability. Great show that peaked in season 6 and lost its edge in season 8. Season 9 was atrocious and should have never happened.
