Strictly Come Dancing is back for a sensational sixth series. Over the next fourteen weeks, sixteen celebrities will be fighting it out to get their hands on the coveted glitterball trophy.

Find out who will be slipping into their dance shoes and slapping on a few sequins with a sneak preview of the couples in the run up to the first live show next Saturday.

6x02 Week 1 (Results)

In the first live show hosted by Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly, eight male celebrities and their professional partners must dance either a waltz or a cha cha cha to impress judges Len Goodman, Arlene Phillips, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli and win the all important viewers' votes. But whose first steps will take them further and who will falter at the first hurdle?

Join TV presenter Andrew Castle, Holby City's Tom Chambers, actor Phil Daniels, Olympic Swimmer Mark Foster, rugby star Austin Healey, chef Gary Rhodes, political broadcaster and journalist John Sergeant and actor Don Warrington as they take to the floor for the very first time.

Two couples must perform again in the dance off in the results show on Sunday for the chance to stay in the competition.

Not to be outdone, the eight female celebrities show off their skills in a group dance. Find out how TV Presenter Christine Bleakley, model and TV presenter Jodie Kidd, actress Cherie Lunghi, singer Heather Small, TV presenter and model Lisa Snowdon, singer Rachel Stevens and actresses Gillian Taylforth and Jessie Wallace are coping.

6x29 Christmas Special

The 2008 Christmas Special aired on 25 December 2008. Tom Chambers, Rachel Stevens and Lisa Snowdon took on former contestants Jill Halfpenny, Alesha Dixon and Kelly Brook. Brian Fortuna partnered Brook due to her original partner Brendan Cole dancing with his more recent partner Lisa Snowdon. Christine Bleakley, Jodie Kidd, Cherie Lunghi, Heather Small, Lisa Snowdon, Rachel Stevens, Gillian Taylforth and Jessie Wallace represented the women, while Andrew Castle, Tom Chambers, Phil Daniels, Mark Foster, Austin Healey, Gary Rhodes, John Sergeant and Don Warrington were the male celebrity dancers. Judges Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood, Arlene Phillips and Bruno Tonioli returned to cast a professional eye over the competitors' performances.

The sensational sixth series of television’s celebrity dancing extravaganza had everything--the usual glitz and glamour, but also show-stopping moves, heartbreak, laughs and controversy. Sixteen celebrity contestants, paired with internationally renowned professional dancers took on everything from the Tango to the Paso Doble as they fought to keep their place in the competition.

As the dancers left the series or progressed to fine tune their steps, the tension--and the standard of their performances--reached astonishing levels. Finally, after 14 weeks of dance-offs, in an amazing three-way final, Tom Chambers and his partner Camilla Dallerup danced their way to become the sixth Strictly Come Dancing champions.
