However, fitting in proves difficult when she is targeted by Jade when she sees her with her boyfriend, which causes her to wonder if she truly belongs there.

However, when the two perform their scene, she encounters a problem when she is accused of deliberately hurting Jade during a fight scene. Meanwhile, Trina struggles with Robbie's constant displays of affection after an on-stage kiss.

Trina's birthday is a big deal in her world and because of this, Tori struggles to find the perfect birthday gift for Trina. André suggests that she writes a song, so as a gift from the heart. She then decides to write an amazing pop song for Trina as a present. However, an ungrateful Trina decides to turn her birthday gift into cash by selling the song, because she thinks it isn't an actual gift since Tori didn't spend any money on it. Meanwhile, Robbie is asked by his grandmother to teach her about computers, and Cat decides to tag along. She regrets it, however, when Robbie's Grandmother shows a deep dislike of her.

A heat wave hits L.A. and Tori and the gang decide to go to Venice Beach to cool off. Beck volunteers to take everyone in his Airstream RV. Once there, Cat leaves to find a bathroom while the rest of the gang stay back to get their beach stuff ready. They try to leave but the vehicle door is blocked another RV, leaving them trapped in the unbearable heat. Meanwhile, Cat is hanging out with four boys, not knowing about the gang's horrible ordeal.

Tori and Trina are on a plane ride which is delayed, and keeps Tori from finishing a homework assignment for script writing class, so she agrees to work on the script through a video chat with the help of Beck, Andre, and Cat. Unfortunateley, all end up facing distractions during the assignment. Among these distractions, Andre has to deal with his crazed grandmother, Beck is distracted by the jealousy of Jade, Cat is distracted by the special effects on her computer, and Tori is distracted by a fight between Trina and a little boy who keeps kicking her back seat.

Jade and Cat participate in a karaoke singing competition at Karaoke Dokie with Hayley Ferguson and her friend Terra, and even though the crowd enjoyed Jade and Cat's song more, Hayley won because her dad owned the karaoke place. Meanwhile, Tori is stuck at home taking care of Trina, who is in massive pain due to her wisdom teeth being removed. Angry that Hayley and Terra cheated, Jade makes up a scheme involving Tori. The next day, Jade and Cat show up and bet Hayley and Terra that anyone in the place could impress the audience more, so Hayley picks a hideous girl to compete against (who is actually Tori in disguise) thinking that "Ugly Betty" will lose easily. If Hayley and Terra win, Hayley gets to make out with Beck, and if they lose, they have to take care of Trina whom Cat and Jade know will be torture to work with. However, Tori surprises everyone (except for Andre, Beck, Cat, Jade, and Robbie who know about the plan) especially Hayley and Terra, by taking off her ugly girl disguise and revealing her true self, including her song "Freak the Freak Out". The audience loved Tori more than Hayley, and Hayley and Terra end up having to take care of Trina. In the end, Tori's drama teacher Mr. Sikowitz sings "Number One" by Ginger Fox (from iCarly).
