They supposedly used voice files from McLennan-Forster to get a positive ID on Marwan's call. But... an EMP was set off in the McLennan-Forster HQ. There would be no files anymore; they'd all be destroyed.
I know the ongoing bit about the hourly CD being passed over was for dramatic tension, but my god it made these people seem so petty and incompetent. No wonder we're constantly under attack in the 24 universe, if this is our line of defense.
Behrooz is written off very weirdly here and we never find out what happened to him.
I still think they should have brought him back in season 6 as a villain seeking revenge for how he and his mother were treated and used by CTU. IMO, one of the biggest missed opportunities in this show.
