Jack saves the day again. The level of the series has risen a lot this season
As happy as the season 2 finale is, I think the season 5 finale is my favourite one. It perfectly encapsulates what 24 is as a whole.

Lmao, of course fucking Los Angeles is the nuke's target, because that makes total sense. Of course. The most high-value target in all of America. Terrorists risk it all just to try and destroy LA of all places. It's hilarious how LA is the center of the 24 universe.
Whatever happened to Behrooz? That thread was completely dropped. Last we saw, he was in the van with the terrorists. Are we to assume they killed him?
That's the only glaring issue I can think of with this season, at least at the moment.
All in all, I'd say this has probably been the best season thus far, or at least on par with S1. The main plot was thrilling, and there was a lack of worthless side plots in comparison to previous seasons - which is a good thing, obviously. The new characters that were introduced were all fine, or at least tolerable. (Audrey is my least favorite.) The subplot about Driscoll's daughter was the most pointless part of the season, but it was at least wrapped up quickly.
The set up for next season seems pretty decent.
Current season ranking: S4 > S1 > S3 > S2.
And like that ends the best season finale of the whole show.
Unlike previous finales, the main threat plot is wrapped up in the very beginning, basically the first 15 minutes, and the rest of the episode builds the life changing consequences of Jack's actions in the past couple of hours, which then climaxes in the final 10 minutes where Jack has no choice but to fake his own death and leave his old life behind.
Heartbreaking finale that leads into the best season, and season premiere, of the whole show.
But....but the Chinese will need a proof of Jack's death, they'll wanna evidence....they'll want to see the body............
Okay, I'll let this one go.
Pretty intense season, and as all previous ones this was packed and very satisfying.

Honestly the best ending of a season so far! Felt like crying the whole episode, the connection between Palmer and Jack , the bromance between Tony and Jack and the shattered heart of Jack after he (AGAIN!) saved the world , i mean - what an end to an amazing season!
