Is it just me or did this show get even better? Idk if I just missed the characters this much and I loved seeing them again, but I think this might’ve been one of the funniest episodes yet, and set up so much for the rest of the season. This show is just too pure!

“How was yalls’ summer?”
“It was...”
“That was rhetorical.”

  • “I could've, that was an option.” - barely two minutes in and Ava is already chaotic. She hasn't changed - still funny, self-centered and all about Gregory. Ava is a terrible principal but I wouldn't have it any other way!

  • “Imagining the worst thing that could possibly happen is one of my best qualities”. - Mine too.

  • “You know what they say, $20 in my hand is worth me in a bush.”

  • “I forgot because I'm a custodian and not some storage ass ho.”

  • Barbara getting her desk, Jacob learning sign language for the kids, and Gregory being the only one to notice Janine's hair. What a great start to the season.

This episode was miles better than any other prior episode! I loved how Gregory and Barbara tried their best to make everything better for the kids, especially the way they tried to make the school as wheelchair accessible as possible. Jacob too. Seeing him sign with that one new girl was endearing. Then, in the midst of all the chaos in Janine’s life, Gregory is the only one to notice that she parted her hair in a different way. What a precious episode.
