Like night and day from the last episode. This was engaging and fun, and it was great seeing the further development of a reoccurring Buffyverse guest character. The scene with Lilah and Angel was pretty spicy. Merl is pitch perfect casting. I feel sorry for the poor lizard man.
Damn, that ending! Good stuff. I really appreciate how different Angel is as a show compared to Buffy ; it doesn't simply feel like a convenient spin-off. The "make do any way you can in a cut-throat world of nothing but grays" is the best thing about the show. It doesn't just flirt with the darkness, it's submerged in it.
