Okay, I really love the plot! It reminds me of that of The Incredibles except accessibility of magic itself isn't the issue but its potential abuse. I also thought that the HexTech capitalization and monopolization of magic might be a potential plot point especially given how Viktor seemed so intent on helping other people but kept getting sidelined or interrupted.
I love the topside vs underside thing, and Caitlyn, this aristocrat scorned by both worlds, being hellbent on her conspiracy. I liked her and Viktor's respective relationships with Jayce and I am excited to see how they will be affected by his new seat on the council.
It was nice to see that Jinx is still this self-involved girl more concerned with proving her worth than the actual consequences of her choices. It's cute that Silco was actually a parental figure to her. I love her cutesy blue-and-pink steampunk aesthetic; and the jumpy, scratchy, doodle-y cuts they do with her POV/memories to show her instability (?) Also in love with how certain scenes or events intercut that of the present while they're being recalled/recounted!
I would be really surprised if the people who made this show didn't take some inspiration from Bioshock Infinite. The city and the gadgets really remind me of it, and Caitlyn reminds of Elizabeth too.
Quite a lot has changed in the characters' lives and the fantasy land as a whole, but the animations and visuals remain captivating as before. The steampunk world with the inventions by Jayce and Viktor looks very attractive visually, and the inventors really made a lot of progress also socially, as Jayce is now a sort of a celebrity and then a Councillor, his research is now not accepted but also something to be desired as everyone is eager for new inventions. Caitlyn became a cop which may be a bit of a degradation taking into account her family's social standing, but she seems to be a talented detective as she is quite inquisitive and wants to check every lead in detail.
The situation of the sisters is not so good, the cinnamon roll that was Powder turned into an insane monster (it seems that she also became a mistress of the big baddie?). She really seems to enjoy causing explosion and destruction for destruction's sake and out of hatred for her sister. It does not seem likely that she would have a redemption arc but I do not really know as I am not a player of the game the show is based on. Meanwhile, Violet is in prison (she must have been there for several years since her younger sister is now a teenager?) - the prison looks like the entrance to Angmar in LotRO ;)
8/10
Good episode with some new interesting plot lines. I still feel like some of the backstory for Jinx was a bit forced and meh.
I love Heimerdinger as kind old professor. Gosh I hate him on the rift hahah. Love how they put little rift creatures here and there. Cute little Poro!
Oh, wow, lots of time has passed since the last episode but it remains a great show.
At thirst I thought Jayce was dreaming but it turned out to be real. Good for him :) He's really changed and even listening to Heimerdinger now. I'm quite impressed.
That little animal is cute :) I remember it from the game (IIRC it was in that special gamemode) but forgot its name :o
It finally came to me that Viktor is the Viktor. I don't think I've realized that before but at least I figured it out before his ultimate ability was showed off (after the hexclaw) :D He seems to get worse (is he sick?) :o He's in a problematic position: Smart but not getting nor wanting any publicity. I'm still afraid that this won't end well for him but let's see...
Jinx is great! She's crazy fun :D Her character is portrayed in a great way :) And I'm so glad that they played the "Get Jinxed" song <3
Now I'm just waiting for "Here comes Vi" :D Speaking of her: It's quite troubling that she's in prison and that she attacked that guy. I wonder what happened. I hope we'll get some flashbacks to fill in the holes.
Caitlin is really badass! Another great character <3
And now I'm really getting some steampunk vibes :) I don't know much about it but AFAIK it's very similar to cyberpunk but with steam (or in this case also hextech, etc.). I guess all of this won't end well... :o The underground city is definitely cool though :D
Looks like there's been a timeskip of a couple years, man everyone has changed so much. Firstly, on Powder, or now Jinx, seems she's become this infamous fighter using her bombs, working for her father-like boss Silco, to complete heists at Piltover. I'm surprised that Silco, the man who would kill is own ppl to create a prosperous nation of Zaun, would decide to adopt a father-like role for Jinx, and has been raising her for all these years after Vancer's death. Man, its also clear that Jinx is not over the death of her friends, and supposed death of Violet, with her going insane and shooting everyone, including her allies, on a hiest today, after seeing an enemy who looked like Violet, and with Jinx also adopting the last thing Violet said about her as a name, creating statues out of trash resembling her old friends, and having moments of mad spirals as memories of her freinds flash into her mind. The way the animation and intense piano notes depicts Jinx's moments of insanity are so well done, such sporadic animaiton and shots perfectally encapsulates the madness Jinx is dealing with after losing her sister Violet and being indirectly responsible for killing all her friends. Also, it appears that the asian enforcer guy is still working with or at least covering up things surrounding Silco and the underground, i hope Caitlyn the now cop/dectective depsite her family's social standing, doesnt get killed for snooping around so much as she works to find the root of the attacks on Piltover. Also, speaking about Piltover, looks like Jayce was massively succesful in his inventions after harnessing magic's power last episode, with him creating this HexTech using magic and technology to produce teleportation gates, and now he and Viktor are working on a new project that could give magic tech power to the common man. It sucks that Prof Heimerdinger told Jayce to wait a decade before releasing that tech to the public, though it makes complete sense given how easily that technology could be used improperly to hurt others. It was sweet that Jayce got to give the progress day speech in Piltover, and though ppl like the black councilwoman were pressuring him to announce the new tech, im glad Jayce decided to wait a bit. Jayce, abov e everything else, is concerned with ensuring the safety of the ppl of Piltover, I mean the whole incentive behind HexTech was to harness the power of magic through tech to help people, it makes sense that he'd push back making the product available to ensure it's stable enough, though thhat sucks for Viktor, cause its clear he completely disagrees with Jayce's decision to hold back this innovation, and plus he might not even make it to see it's released given how sick Viktor is. Also, looks like Jinx, out of her desire to prove she isn't useless (given that all her childhood she was told that by her now deceased friends, and once indirectly by Violet when Violet told Jinx to stay back) and it looks like Jinx stole Jayce's experiemental new technology, which has the power to kill tons of people if harnessed. And Jayce, fitting for his character, decided he should shut down all his technology for the safety of Piltover as they council works towards retreiving the stolen magical gem, but now that the council people are benefitting financially from Jayce's technology, looks like that cant be a solution and instead Jayce got promoted to council. Also looks like Caitlyn is hot on the trail of Jinx and Silco, with her connecting the graffiti symbols to todays event and slowly getitng closer to finding out whats happening, man i hope that asian enforcer commander doesnt interfere with or kill Caitlyn (who after todays robbery of the magical gem has lost her job) before she can find and expose the root of these attacks. Looks like Caitlyn is going to be interviewing Violet, whose now stuck in a Piltover prison complex. Man, I cant wait for the fated reunion between Violet and Jinx (Powder).
My favorite episode so far, I like seeing what is happening in the upper city. I found the story with Jinx is, on the opposite, quite boring.
Heimerdinger: "You deserve this honour."
Firelight Leader: "We have five minutes till they're out of there."
Heimerdinger: "Holy sprockets."
Heimerdinger: "Give it a decade of research, and it will be ready."
Marcus: "I realise you're used to getting your way, Kiramman, but we have a chain of command for a reason."
Powder: "It wasn't her. It wasn't."
Baby voice: "Help. In here, please. Help me."
Heimerdinger: "You would sacrifice your life's work?"
Heimerdinger: "I believe Councilor Medarda is right. Hextech security should be administered by a scientist. I second the motion."
Cait: "I don't need charity, Councilor. Yours or my parents'."

How did they manage to make this episode even better than the others ! I hope the team behind this show goes on and makes way more stuff in the future.
LOL at the councilor still trying to figure out the child's puzzle all those years later.
