Great writing, acting, very satisfying end and that songs playlist w0oo!.
Fantastic series from start to finish, great acting, script and kept us guessing right until the end.
“You’re only as happy as your unhappiest child.”
While I predicted about 90% of it - murderer, motive, and resolution - I still enjoyed the finale. I liked how it ended with all the sisters swimming together, and not the romantic subplots. I can't think of a better ending for this show other than seeing Grace finally being able to jump. Can't help to think there are so many people out there stuck with their own JPs and hoping they'll get to swim in the sea again.
When Matt looks at the picture JP's death, he says something to the extent of, "Someone really did a number on him.", so I was expecting something horrible.
JP always treated Grace horribly, but the way he treated her in those final moments was beyond disgusting. The part where he said if he turned the lights out, she'd disappear completely, he diminished her self-worth to the bare bone man. To be honest, they didn't keep needing to make JP more and more of an absolute asshole, we all wanted him to die just for the way he called Grace
“Mammy”.:face_vomiting:
It seemed a bit too convenient that petite Grace could overpower JP like that. I thought it took a real good amount of strength to strangle someone? But let's call it artistic license. Laughed when Eva pointed out that Grace buried him in his "murder weapon".
That kitchen table scene was some of the richest drama I've ever watched recently. Wonderful cast.
Why was Ben at the funeral? That part doesn't make sense to me. Also, I don't know if I buy it with how drastically Ben turned on Ursula. He told JP himself that he would kill him. But then one comment is a line too far?
The ending didn't tie up Eva and Gabriel's friendship.
So what happens to the other claimants the Claffin senior defrauded? Isn't this just a temporary respite?
*When Becka was going to poison Matt, I thought they were getting a set up for season two. Would I love to see more about these sisters? Sure. But I hope they don't do another season. I'd hate to see the whole thing diminished by a second series that was less than fully committed.
Cannot recommend this excellent, well written series enough.
JP was cartoon-y villain.
The writers wanted us to see him get killed. I would have liked to see a more compelling character.
I didn't love the finale as much as other people did. Too many actions seemed out of character to me, and it resolved too neatly.
I was surprised it didn't set up a second season. The Belgian show "Clan", that it's based on, only had a single season anyway. As much as I would love to see more of the Garvey sisters, I'm not sure a second season is a good idea.
What a fantastic ending! I kind of saw the first plot resolution coming and I should have seen the second one (how they neatly tied it all together). I was worried that the show was just going to be a series of failed attempts on JP's life - it ended up being so much more than that.
