Baron Noir 2016

The performances of the cast are excellent, particularly Kad Merad as Rickwaert, and the show's writing and direction are top-notch. The show's portrayal of the political system in France has been praised for its realism and attention to detail, and the series has been credited with revitalizing the political thriller genre in French television. However, the show's pacing can be slow at times, and that it can be difficult to follow for viewers who are not familiar with French politics. Nonetheless, "Baron Noir" is a compelling and thought-provoking series that is definitely worth a watch for fans of political dramas and international thrillers.

If The West Wing was a thriller.

This show is compared to the US version of House of Cards, and for good reasons. It is a political thriller of stupendous quality following the underdog elected Philipe Rickwaert to the ultimate position of the French Republique. The production is top notch and the acting is fantastic, with actors that are normally not known for their serious roles.

I am midway through the 3rd season, and although the focus has changes between season, the show retain the same vivacity, without episodes that give the feeling to be fillers.
