I'm so tired of this portrayal of the relationship between Elizabeth and Thomas. Instead of repeatedly showing him sexually abuse her, they should've just alluded to it. Instead of playing romantic music during their scenes, they should have portrayed it as creepy as it was in real life. If they wanted to show how charming abusers often can be, they shouldn't do it in a way that makes the audience feel like they condone his behaviour.
