When in time is this show supposed to be taking place? Paul is 20, which means Catherine should be around 40, but Helen Mirren is 70+ years old (and let's be honest, she looks great, but she's much closer to looking her age than 40), which makes the whole thing confusing, since Catherine died in her sixties. Helen is great, but why didn't they get a younger actress for the role?
I feel like they messed up with the casting and it makes the show feel very aged. For a pilot, this episode was really boring to me, and the older cast definitely doesn't help.
Normally, I love period dramas. Victoria is one of my all time favorites, but I'm not sure I'll continue watching this one, because I'm not enjoying it very much.
