The first hour is a good set up for the reimagining of Clarke's story, but the second hour feels choppy and rushed.
The part at the beginning, where the invasion was happening all over the world and it was morning everywhere, was kind of ridiculous.
I'm still recovering from Karellen's appearance though, jawdropping .

I really was thinking this was going to be another "Under the Dome" style show.
But really was shocked that its not, and this does have its far fetched parts, almost feeling like "the whispers" with the unknow/alien taking Mike Vogel into his past, well a room form his past and him being able to see his ex which has died. The powers of this thing can make them see people who are dead and heal and bring things to life that should have died.
Its not a bad series how ever episode two will be crazy cause of Karellen looking like a devil/evil and not being that its going to make everyone go crazy can see it now but who knows need to wait for the other two to air.
But for a first episode I give this a 10/10 has me wanting to watch the other two right now

The premiere episode is a bit slow but the moment when Karellen reveals his appearance is jaw-dropping even for someone who have read the book several times. I'm eager to see the next 2 episodes, especially how the creators handled the ending of "The Children".
