While there might be some suspicions because it is written by the son of a personal friend of Bernard Tapie, the series presents the character as a man pursued by his own ambition, a figure that is so pathetic which is impossible to bleach. With a structure that follows the pattern of "The Crown", the staging provides some interesting ideas, such as the fact of not aging the actor Laurent Lafitte, which reflects that it is not exactly trying to be a biopic of the person, but rather a projection of the character, and it also works as a description of a France that succumbs to its own image.
