10x11 A Trace of Murder

Contrived and heavy-handed.
Barry Corbin is terrific fun, and there are several smart clues in the script. Unfortunately the movie flags each of these with no subtlety.
And Columbo being chummy with the murderous criminologist (David Rasche) right from their first scene together feels forced.

A good plot but slightly over padded and an unnecessary explainer at the end. I also think David Rasche was miscast in this role - he doesn’t read like a CSI type character. Enjoyable overall, though.
