Is the BAU now just the go-to for any murder or kidnapping committed? There are specific units of the FBI that deal with abductions. The local cops surely have a few detective-ranked+ officers on staff. Remember back in the day when the BAU specialized in serial killers, only getting called in when there were 3 victims or likely to be 3 victims? That's part of what made this show distinguishable from the thousands of other murder investigation shows out there.
Kudos to the child actresses in this episode.
Dave made me feel kinda sick in this episode. This case revolved around dead parents, a dead child, and the potential for more dead children. Yet, all he can think about is how to propose? He couldn't even wait until they were out of the victim's house to have that revelation of "it can never be perfect, can it?" It's just a proposal, man. That holds absolutely no stake to this case.
And it's hard for me to actually care about the proposal because we've only seen them together, like, twice. How long in show time has it been since they met again. A couple of months? Rossi is too quick to marry. It's not like they had much history before that. I'd be more interested in their engagement if we were given more scenes of them on dates, bonding, etc. All we got was the stuff with Krystall's daughter and them sneaking out of a hotel. Add in some solitaire, and we're supposed to feel like they're madly in love? It feels more to me like they're both just lonely and desperate to find someone, knowing they're not getting any younger...
