1x01 Legacy

First impression: it didn't knock me out of my chair.

I mean it is, for for better or worse, CSI. The ingredients are there and it's great to see at least some of the old crew back. They will literally carry the show. The new cast ? How do I say this without provoking a shitstorm upon me ? Well I probably shouldn't. Let's just say I don't connect with them and the actors portrayal is not the best. But that could change.

As for the plot. Instead of an epsisodic case-of-the-week scenario we seem to be getting a serialised story strechting the whole season. But it also looks like a been-there-done-that kind of plot.

I am in for now but mostly for nostalgia than pure interest.

We see a lot of Sarah, but little of Grissom and Brass. The new ones do not hook much, being 10 episodes we will see it

The original was one of my favorites and part of the ordinals appeal was it’s cast and their chemistry . this spin off/ reboot was decent but if the thee originals weren’t in it can’t say I’d stick around

Boring new cast, cookie-cutter characters. The original series had a unique, complex and interesting team living hard lives from the very first episode.
Also, where are the "colorful" lab technicians? They were a staple of the CSI franchise.
The writing seemed very lazy as well.
- How the hell did Dwyer kidnap a police officer in the middle of the FSE and carried her gagged and hogtied to his car in the parking lot??
- What was the lead that narrowed their search down to one distillery?? The fruit stand?
- CSIs can break in to a warehouse now, without a warrant or probable cause? They didn't even have a police officer with them.
- Maxine supposedly pulled an all-nighter, but she was still wearing her jacket all buttoned-up and her hair & makeup impeccable...

I can't say that I am surprised that they have started another show like this, or maybe I should say brought it back. Studios want shows that will get a large enough audience and bring in the most money and run for a long period. Well, as most of us know, this was a very popular and fairly long running series with very popular and fairly long running spin-offs. Also, now they might even gain a large number of newer young viewers. I would bet that this will run for a long period as well.

Definitely caught my attention. CSI was one of my favorite tv shows and forensic drama, police drama's, investigation drama type shows are my FAVE! Definitely going to watch all episodes! CSI is back!

Instead of a decent restart bringing in some new cool characters and focusing on solving crimes the useless Hollywood hacks just had to put together some rubbish conspiracy screwing everything up from the start and relying on the fans just wanting to watch the old characters no matter what.

God, I stopped watching CSI around the time Grissom went away, did the show remained this good? This is certainly a stellar beginning.

An unnecessary spin-off that is pretty much the original CSI returning. Accept it did keep my attention the whole time and was nice to see everyone again.
It’s no real surprise to see it back because I remember the creator wanted CSI to go on for years. Then suddenly it ended and then CSI: Cyber was canceled.
