There's some mystery and scare elements. That makes this special special. It's certainly not the festive theme. I can't say I approve the scary plot elements.
The overall episode is good though. A case from the commissioner's past. It's not the typical whodunnit. Which is in line with last season that explored less rigid plots. I also like that our detective finally has a private life that may spice up things a bit. I like the emotional ending.
PS: still not understand how anyone would think that Balthazar must have been black, but I'd would have liked the idea that St. Marie's Balthazar were the only white kid in the room.
Last week I listened to a podcast discussing variants of English. A professor confessed that she - when she was in a English speaking country on the other side of the globe - always understood cyclepaths when a local told something about a psychopath. I thought that's a made up story. Now, I watch this episode and it takes me almost an hour to realize that the guy's not a professional side-kick. I somehow thought he is some sort of interview partner in the crime podcast. I know. It makes no sense. In fact he's a professional psychic. :joy:
