Really nice anime, and very different from the usual scenarios.
Must watch.
"Each episode surprised me with the careful observation of humanity and human life. It expresses our desires, our beliefs, and who we value most. Death parade is more about humanity and what we did during our life. The show is very beautiful in a way in which human nature is defined." - smithnoah54, IMDb
Interesting anime!
One suggestion, watch OVA before the series as it serves as a good primer.
I just finished the show and didn't expect that i will like it to that much
first i can show appreciation for the animation and soundtrack and the idea as a hole
it's new for me and i really liked it
,but about the story line this was really Good to degree i was thinking with myself about each episode Idea and what message included
, I'm a person how had a suicide try before so that's really made me remember a lot of Things about it, we all have a reason to live, so live life you will remember
anyway
i wanted a more happy ending tho than that
but it's how Things should go
so
Great anime
i will rewatch again later
thanks for who made it
I think this is has an unusual promise (after the first ep). I think one can say it somewhat becomes repeatable, but the very first episode is somewhat unique, as you don't really know much about the place at that time.
Bad. Interesting concept, but executed poorly. Things are left unanswered all the time, and Im not talking about the difficult questions, nor that we dont get to know about the different recurring characters. Im talking about plot holes and things that it would seem the writiers simply didnt care about answering. Why was Harada suddenly soulless? Where did his soul go? I guess not being able to answer that didnt keep the writiers from just making it so because they needed to have a nice "lovely" ending to his and Mayu Arita's story... Why did the rusty haired arbiter that I cant remember the name of now suddeny not do his job when it came to their story even though hes a hardass on following rules and has no epiphany and no change to his character or convictions. What happened to the two murderers? Which one went to the void and which one got reincarnated? Guess that was a too difficult question for the writers to answer so they simply ended the episode there... What happened pulling out the worst of people when it came to the old woman? Guess the writers simply forgot about that being a part of the judgement even though they mention it in the very same episode... Why did Chiyuki say that she didnt care about losing her ability to ice skate because she had more important things like friends and family only to in the next sentences say that it didnt matter because they "werent her"? Seems like the stupidest and most baseless explenation in the entire series. There are just a few examples, theres so much thats left unanswered in the same fashion that I found myself irritated all the time, almost every episode ending with a "Ok so what about ... ?", especially when the writers simply seemed to have forgotten about their own rules. What about the woman and that guy playing an arcade game? Which one went to the void and which one got reincarnated? I get that the answer to that judgement is difficult, as is most of the others too, but just skipping it and leaving the burden to the viewers seems cheap and like a cop out Ehhhhhh. Im not even sure Im glad I gave this series my time, which is even more frustrating because as said, its a good concept for a series. Nice concept, horrible writers always trying to give things deeper meaning though it would seem they dont have sufficient understanding of human emotions/lives to do so and end up fumbling in the dark before just moving on "to the next thing" that they also butcher like everything previous.
If youre gonna zone out watching this series then its gonna be good, if you pay attention to details its bad.
Well, that wasn't what I was expecting at all. I was expecting blood and gore and another slasher horror anime, but to my surprise it was far from this. It was nice I guess. Very pleasing in the way it looks, the story is good and the caracters are a pleasure to watch. I just feel like there could ahve been more. 12 episodes and it's done. I want to know more about some of the characters. More about the history of the place, more about everything.
I'd recommend this to anyone that's looking for a new anime to binge that isn't flying at mach 3, doesn't have a million twists and turns and is just a nice show to put on and enjoy while relaxing after a day at work.

Beautifully designed and masterfully shot. With every frame animated to perfection. Plays around the concept of death, the afterlife in a very interesting and meaningful way that ultimately helps it convey various memorable characters in its episodic nature.
