Finally some emotional pay-back around Finola's Father...and. so nice it's written to be so down to earth.
Liked that twist on the tin foil hat at the end.
Bryan had a chance to keep himself in the clear after it all went pear shaped, if he would have just went all Axel Foley on Maddox and called him up yelling "WTF man, you tried to have your boy merc me TOO????" "Finola stepped between your boy and her dad, he was about to cap her in the noggin, I was trying to talk him down, my guy drew down on HIM, he popped a cap on Finola AND my boy, and was drawing down on me and I had to cap him". Now here's the clincher.... Bryan tells Maddox "Right before he died, he said "I was just following Maddox's orders", which puts all the onus on Maddox to prove he didn't order Bryan killed, and leaves him on his back foot. Finola already has her handler playing catch up, and THEY have the bargaining chip both sides want. Bryan now has an excuse to disobey orders as he "thinks" Maddox is dirty (which he IMO is), and Finola has exposed that she can't trust her handlers either, so, with the higher ups, it just looks like it all went sideways, and BOTH agents are just trying to stay alive.
Don't know if the face swap guy is INFLUX masquerading as an MI6 agent, or is (or has been) Finola's boss is a double agent now.
@VWFringe - I agree on the dad. It seems he might have been a work obsessed genius, but kind of an azzhat as a Dad before his demise, and, the damage they did by shoving the Lazarus nacho in his noggin, lobotomized the crappy Father part and left him a damaged, genius, but better person. I was terrified a shot was going to come through the window when he was standing by it.
He could have just asked Bryan for a "Space Blanket" (most bug out kits have a few of them tossed in) unless, ALUMINUM foil is specifically needed to deflect the real or imagined gremlins he is avoiding (even if it's just in his mind)
Hey Finola...., Yeah, they can trace YOUR phones too!! (unless you can pull the SIM cards and the batteries)
Nice "nacho of the week" reveal with the girl at the beginning, but, why didn't she just go all Violet Parr when the INFLUX guys were after her, instead of crawling into a body bag? Unless, they can detect her or, she hadn't yet discovered her "arcana" until she was under (extreme) physical duress. (Finish Him!!!)
This episode picked up the pace nicely. Hopefully they can keep the momentum going.
I don't like the show that much but some of the weird stuff that happens is interesting. Don't care either way if the Dad was dead or not.
I thought the same thing, Alexander :joy: now you are so surprised that we can reanimate people. Because thats so far off od teleportation, invisibility, reverse aging etc lol.
Well, the story moves along nicely in this one, which is a plus; but we also get daddy issues, which is a minus, given how unoriginal and overused the trope is at this point...
