So, John Jr. drinks damn near a full bottle of liquor and then proceeds to have a lucid conversation. Minutes later, even with the help of the old liquid courage, he can't pull the trigger and kill Victor when he has the chance. He then comes up with a half-cocked plan to armor up and plow through a field of zombies, without weapons, no less, so that he can save Mo and somehow secure his "legacy," even though he more or less screwed that up with John Jr. and screwed it up again when he went back on the sauce, failed to kill Victor and then got himself killed. What he really should have done was take over the tower, boot out the detractors and welcome Morgan and Co. into the base. That would have secured his legacy (as if any of this matters). June was more than capable of getting Mo out of the tower on her own. John's futile sojourn into the zombie bath was just dumb. To make matter worse, when John finally makes it to Morgan, Morgan just gives a half-hearted, emotionless "I'm sorry," when he learns that his late friend's father has been bitten. John Sr., again doesn't bother finding a weapon to hold off the zombies so that Morgan and Co. can have more time to escape. He just succumbs to the rotters, getting unceremoniously chewed to bits without a fight. Before all that transpired, John and June's scene in the tunnel and the ensuing dialogue was rotten - much like this show, which is rotting on the vine. Frankly, Colman Domingo is the show's only saving grace at this point. Even Lennie James seems to have cashed in his chips.
