6.5/10. More perfectly good HIMYM. Again, not the show's best stuff, but the conceit of retracing Ted's drunken night step-by-step was a good one. The problem, which I'm remembering as I rewatch this show, is that early Ted especially could be pretty annoying. He's probably the least likable of the main five, especially early in the show's run, and that makes his hectoring of Robin way more offputting than endearing. Still, what sells the show and makes it work at the level it does is the friendship between the main members that feels lived-in, with in-jokes and high fives and the kind of rapport that longtime friends share. While the Ted-Robin stuff gets a little tedious here, there's enough humor and friendly banter to make it a decent enough episode.
