You'd think Marshall, being the coolest, most chill dude in the show would've immediately felt at home with his co-workers.

7.8/10. Solid episode, made better by Marshall and Ted's exchange at the bar which did a good job at contrasting and comparing the characters's predicaments. Again, even the show gets broad, they ground it solid, genuine-feeling interactions between friends, and that makes it work. I liked Marshall's storyline better than Ted's, just because the conflict between selling out and trying to support your loved one, even if it means giving up your ideals because you think it's what they deserve was well set up, and had both an emotional conflict for Marshall and Lily, and an interesting twist with Marshall's whole "life among the gorillas" idea. Plus, it featured Barney at his most Barney in entertainingly goofy fashion.

Ted's had a little less juice to it, but they establish a nice rapport between Ted and Robin that, while a little forced, still helps tell the story of how and why they would be attracted to one another. The Marshall story is the much better of the two stories, but it's still a solid ep.
