I like that the show keeps making references to politics and social fears based on prejudice. The appearance of the MP made me think of the anti-immigration political parties and figures that have gained support in the last few years in Europe. Just like in the series, people see each case of attacks involving immigrants as something that characterizes everyone of that nation or race, then they expect their government to make changes that would affect everyone of those groups. While there's nothing new to it and it's always been the basis of racism, it's only recently that multiple developed countries have gone downhill, as the new generation probably no longer remembers the Nazi Germany. In this sense the series is really on-point and just right for our time of Brexit, the AfD and Trump.
